Privacy Policy
How Customelo handles merchant account data and the shopper data processed through shops.
Last updated: October 1, 2026
Who this covers
Customelo is currently a free beta. It is operated personally by its founder and is not yet a registered company. Features may change, and the service is currently provided without paid plans.
This Privacy Policy explains how Customelo handles information relating to merchants who use the platform and information processed through shops operated by those merchants.
Merchants are responsible for how their own shops collect and use shopper information. Merchants should publish their own privacy policy and provide any notices or choices required by the laws that apply to their shop and customers.
What we collect from merchants
Depending on how you use Customelo, we may process:
- Account information such as your name and email address.
- Authentication information, including your password in protected form. Customelo does not store your password as readable text.
- Shop information, settings, products, orders, content, and other information you add to the platform.
- Sign-in and security events.
- Records showing acceptance of the Customelo Terms of Service and Privacy Policy, including the accepted versions, acceptance time, and a hashed network address.
- Support requests and communications.
- Browser notification subscriptions if you enable notifications.
Shopper data processed for merchants
When a shopper interacts with a shop powered by Customelo, the merchant may collect information such as their name, email address, phone number, shipping address, order information, personalization text, uploaded artwork, and other information needed to complete their order.
This information is processed and stored by Customelo on behalf of the merchant so the merchant can operate the shop, process orders, provide customer service, and fulfil purchases.
The merchant is responsible for determining what shopper information is collected, why it is collected, how long it is retained, and what legal notices or rights apply to that information.
How we use information
We use information as reasonably necessary to:
- Provide and operate Customelo and merchant shops.
- Create and manage merchant accounts.
- Authenticate users and protect accounts.
- Process and manage orders and other platform activity.
- Send account, security, transactional, and service-related emails.
- Provide customer and merchant support.
- Operate live support when a merchant chooses to open the support chat.
- Provide browser notifications when enabled.
- Detect, investigate, and prevent fraud, abuse, security incidents, and misuse.
- Maintain backups and recover the service.
- Maintain records needed for security, dispute resolution, or other legitimate operational purposes.
- Comply with applicable legal obligations.
We do not sell personal data.
Service providers currently used
Customelo relies on service providers and infrastructure providers to operate the platform.
**Hosting, database, authentication, and account infrastructure:** Lovable Cloud infrastructure.
**Shop traffic routing and infrastructure:** Cloudflare.
**Merchant-owned custom domains:** Approximated.
**Card payments:** Stripe, but only for shops that connect their own Stripe account. Payment processing is subject to the merchant's agreement with Stripe.
**Live support:** Tawk.to. Tawk is used in the merchant dashboard when a merchant chooses to start a support chat. It is not loaded on shopper storefronts.
**Email delivery:** Account and service emails may be delivered through the email infrastructure used by Customelo.
**Browser notifications:** Customelo uses standard Web Push technology. Notification delivery may pass through the push service associated with the merchant's browser or device.
Merchants may also configure third-party analytics or advertising services for their shops, including Meta, TikTok, Snapchat, and Microsoft Clarity. These services are controlled and configured by the merchant rather than by Customelo as a platform-wide requirement.
Cookies and similar technologies
Customelo and shops powered by Customelo may use cookies, local storage, and similar technologies.
Some technologies are necessary for functions such as authentication, security, shopping carts, order processing, and remembering essential settings.
Optional analytics and advertising technologies may be used where enabled and where the applicable consent requirements are met.
Customelo's own website may use optional analytics or advertising technologies. Where required, visitors are given choices through the cookie and consent controls provided on the site.
Merchant storefronts may have their own consent settings and third-party tracking configured by the merchant.
Data security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures intended to protect information against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction.
No online service can guarantee absolute security. You should also use a strong password, protect your account credentials, and promptly report suspected unauthorized access or security issues.
Data retention
Merchant account and shop information is generally retained while the account remains active.
Some information may be retained for a longer period where reasonably necessary for security, fraud prevention, dispute resolution, backups, legal obligations, or other legitimate operational purposes.
Security and technical logs may be retained for limited periods based on their purpose.
Records of acceptance of the Customelo Terms of Service and Privacy Policy may be retained as evidence of the agreement and the version accepted.
For shopper information processed on behalf of a merchant, retention is generally determined by the merchant and the applicable requirements for that shop.
Your choices and rights
You can access and update certain merchant account information through your Customelo dashboard.
You may request deletion of your Customelo account by contacting support.
Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights concerning your personal information, including rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to certain processing.
For shopper information collected through a particular shop, shoppers should generally contact the merchant operating that shop first, because the merchant determines how that information is used and retained.
International use
Customelo and its service providers may process or store information in countries other than the country where you live.
Where applicable, information may therefore be subject to the laws of countries other than your own.
Children's information
Customelo is intended for business users and is not directed toward children.
Merchants are responsible for complying with any age-related requirements that apply to their own shops and products.
Changes
We may update this Privacy Policy as Customelo develops.
When we make a material change, we will provide notice and, where appropriate, ask merchants to accept the updated version before continuing to use the service.
